Description:Limited to 3,000 copies, this second English language edition of Diego Rivera's Mural at the Rockefeller Center is a comprehensive look at the mural begun by Rivera in 1933 at the newly constructed Rockefeller Center and the resulting controversy that led to the uncompleted mural's destruction by the building's managers in 1934. Commissioned by Nelson Rockefeller himself, the magnificent sixty-three foot long mural depicted Lenin front and center leading workers at the crossroads of industry, science, socialism, and capitalism. The book includes time lines, essays (English) and reprinted news articles (English and Spanish) as well as two plate sections of color and b+w images depicting the (almost) finished mural and its construction in detail.
